The Poetry of Worcestershire

Date: 6th April 2019

Time: 11am-1pm

Location: The Hive, Sawmill Walk, The Butts, Worcester, WR1 3PD.

Join Simon Fletcher and Michael W. Thomas for an absorbing poetry writing workshop on the poetry of Worcestershire. Simon and Michael will encourage those attending to produce some new work on the county’s heritage and how it is today. So if you’re passionate about the river Severn, the Malvern Hills, the cathedral, the porcelain, cricket at New Road, Vesta Tilley, Elgar or the asparagus harvest come along. If you’re interested in the present and today’s issues you’re also very welcome. Tickets £5 on the door.

In the autumn Offa’s Press is publishing an anthology of The Poetry of Worcestershire. To date its three ‘county’ anthologies have been ‘recommended reading’ as selected by West Midland librarians. Submission details for this anthology will be shared at the workshop.
