Poetry Workshop

Date: 2nd March 2019

Location: Pant village hall, Pant near Oswestry, Shropshire, SY10 9QG

Join us at Pant village hall for a day of writing, talking, walking and sharing poetry. This workshop with Marion Cockin and Simon Fletcher focusses on winter landscapes and includes a walk on Llynclys Common with its wonderful views of the Berwyn Mountains. Refreshments will be provided free but please bring your own lunch and suitable clothing. We shall be stopping off at the Courting Stones and Oliver’s Pool during the walk. Tickets are £20/ £15. City Voices

This month we welcome Paul Harvey, Ruth Parker, Brian Dakin, Marion Cockin and Steve Pottinger for a wonderful evening of poetry, stories and entertainment. Tickets £3 on the door.

Country Voices

Location: The Meadow Inn, Buildwas Road, Ironbridge, TF8 7BJ.

Join us for an afternoon of poetry from 3 talented regional writers. Stephen Clarke, Nellie Cole and David Bingham will share some new work. Tickets £4 on the door.

World Poetry Day

Date: 21st March 2019

Time: 10.30-2.30

Location: The Arena Theatre, Wulfruna Street, Wolverhampton, WV1 1SE.

Simon will be running workshops and organising poetry readings with Ros Woolner, Rob Francis and Kuli Kohli to celebrate World Poetry Day.

If you like writing/ reading or performing poetry you’re welcome to come along. This is a free event, to include lunch, organised by the Workers’ Educational Association and might lead on to a summer course of ‘writing for performance’. For more information contact Simon.

Japanese Forms

Location: JRR Tolkien Room, City Central Library, Bethesda Street, Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent, ST1 3RS.

Simon will be joining David Bingham to run a poetry writing workshop on Japanese forms (haiku, tanka and haibun). If you have an interest in finding out more about these intriguing and mercurial forms of poetry then come along.
